RetailSim: VR & WebGL Merchandising Twin
RetailSim is a transformative “digital twin” platform that replaces physical mock stores with hyper-realistic 3D environments. Built on the Unity engine, it allows retailers to A/B test shelving layouts, analyze consumer behavior, and train staff using a unified Virtual Reality and WebGL ecosystem.
The Science of Shopping
Merchandising used to be guesswork. RetailSim turns it into a science. By tracking user gaze and movement in a simulated store, we provide heatmaps and analytics that reveal exactly why a customer picks up a product—before you ever stock the shelf.
Challenge & Solution
The Challenge: Physical retail is expensive to change. Testing a new aisle layout or planogram typically requires building physical mockups, printing signage, and disrupting actual store operations. Furthermore, onboarding new staff on complex inventory procedures is time-consuming and inconsistent across franchise locations.
The Solution: We engineered RetailSim, a dual-purpose simulation platform for merchandising analytics and workforce development.
Consumer Behavior Lab
We create virtual focus groups where participants shop in VR. Integrated eye-tracking technology generates precise heatmaps, showing which packaging grabs attention and which “hot zones” on the shelf drive the most engagement.
